Carb Intercept

Natrol Carb InterceptAfter being very disappointed with the Julian Michael's 14 day weight loss program, I found this product at Wal-Mart for $10 to buy 60 capsules, then I found on Amazon.com that I could get a larger quantity for a better price.

Details: 60 capsules, dietary supplement.  Helps control carbs, helps metabolize fat, support weight loss, dietary supplement.  Take 2 capsules before a starch containing meal, 2 times a day.  No more than 4 capsules a day.  Includes Phase 2 Carb controller complex which is (white kidney bean extract, calcium, chromium).  Does not include caffeine extract of any kind, does not include green tea extract.  No wheat, corn, milk, egg, soy, glutens, sugar, artificial colors or flavors.

Information: I have been taking this for 9 months.  I love it.  When I started taking this the first 3 months I lost my water weight which was about 10 lbs.  Since then I have been able to maintain a consistant weight, at an ideal weight, though I still have to loose about 15 pounds of baby fat.  I have remained at the same weight being able to burn fat, and add muscle without having to make major changes to my food, and my wardrobe.  As I eat healthier food, and exercise more I'm burning the fat, not just loosing water weight.  That is one of the nice things about this product, is that it allows me to burn fat easier, after I've lost my water weight.  I highly recommend this, as a boost for your New Year's resolutions, and to give you a boost at getting healthy.

Prenatal Vitamins

Prenatal Vitamins
Okay so to start I just want to say that since I was between the ages of 8 and 10 I learned to hate taking any type of swallow-able pill, vitamin, medicine etc.  They always seemed to get stuck in my throat no matter how much liquid I dumped down my esophagus, and I always got sick from them no matter how much food I would eat right before and right after taking them.  So my rating is hugely important to this product because I've hated products like this for almost 18 years now.

Details: 2X/30 tablets, 30 prenatal multi-vitamin tablets, and 30 prenatal DHA/EPA soft gels.  Complete prenatal multi-vitamins and DHA. DHA to support healthy fetal brain and eye development, more folic acid, and more iron.  To be used before, during and after pregnancy.  Helps with bone strength, heart health, immune system, healthy skin, brain and nervous system, eyes, bone and teeth, oxygen delivery for mother and baby.

Information:  First of all after giving birth to 2 children, I have tried 4 different prenatal vitamins, and these are the best I've found in 5 years of being a mother.  I've tried  prescription vitamins that made me sick, gummy vitamins that tasted so good, and super stinky vitamins that I could barely swallow.  But these are super easy to swallow, they smell like strawberry, and have no strong after tastes.  Even the Omega 3's aren't too strong so that I end up tasting them when I burp.  After 3 days of taking these I already had a clearer mind, I could think better and concentrate, I wasn't forgetting things like I was, (meaning no more Mommy Brain), my skin felt better, my body felt better.  I could work out with more endurance.  I started taking these even though I wasn't pregnant, and wasn't planning to get pregnant for a while, but I needed to get healthier and this is a great product!  I highly recommend this!

Yeast Infection Tips

Have you ever had a yeast infection?

What about your baby or toddler?  It's pretty bad stuff, and not very fun to have to deal with, and can be really difficult to kill. You can go to the store and try the half a dozen or so 1 day super expensive stuff, the 5 day moderately priced stuff, or the 7 day lower priced stuff.  If your baby has a yeast infection in the diaper area, or if a woman or man has a yeast infection in the genital area, or if an adult has thrush in that same area; below are some great tips for a way to kill it quickly, safely, and naturally.

Recipe for Healing a Yeast Infection:
*fresh garlic
*Extra Virgin Olive Oil
*glass bowl with lid

For Yeast Infection:
Fresh Garlic for Yeast InfectionGet a fresh garlic clove, and mince it all up into a small glass bowl (this bowl needs a lid), now mix in enough olive oil to cover up all the garlic.  Let the mixture sit in the covered bowl for 3 days.  Put the bowl in a cool dark place, so that you don't harvest mold.  Now apply with cotton balls on a baby or toddler to their diaper area, pat it on, don't rub it on.  If this seems to hurt the child or baby, apply lightly, let it sit a  few seconds and then clean off.  If that doesn't work, we used Vaseline on the affected area, then the garlic mixture.  That helped a lot better with the discomfort.  Apply with a wash rag or cotton balls to adults as well.

For Thrush:
Crisco Olive Oils for ThrushIf you have thrush cut garlic cloves open and put the freshly cut side on your tongue for 30 seconds.  Do this up to 6 times a day (2 in the morning, 2 around noon, and 2 at night).  For children its harder to get them to leave a garlic piece on their tongue, so you can follow the instructions for the garlic olive oil and use a dropper to put a few drops in their mouth up to 6 times a day.

I have tried both of these tips on my self, my husband and my baby when we had yeast infections, and my baby had thrush.  After suffering with a yeast infection for 2 weeks and nothing in the store was working I tried this and it was gone in 3 days.  My baby had thrush for 3 days and it was gone after using this in 2 days.

My husband has had yeast infections from poor diet, and dirty work out clothes, and has killed those in just a few days.  There are other things to try, but this is all natural, and it has worked for everyone I've told.  It does burn a bit at first, and you'll feel like you need to scratch, but don't! My husband used the cotton balls and found they worked best for him.  I felt the washrag worked best for me.

And always remember to wash with soap often and keep the area dry!

So go ahead and give both options a try when you test this out for yourself.

Match It! ABC Game

Looking for a great ABC game for kids?

26 upper case puzzle pieces, 26 picture puzzle pieces, and 26 lower case puzzle pieces, and directions.  There are different ways to play this game, depending on the age of your children.  For ages 4 and up.  Educational benefits teach speaking, reading, cause and effect and problem solving.

Information: This looked like a boring game for my 4 year old, but he loved it.  He had forgotten some of the lower case letters, and having to find them by sight to match a picture and the upper case letter was really fun to watch.  We played this by organizing all the pieces into their separate groups (upper, lower, picture), and he had to choose an upper case letter, match it to the picture and find the lower case letter too.  To help him, he learned the sounds that each letter makes, and had to find pictures that he doesn't normally associate with each letter (sun instead of snake, jar instead of jam, yarn instead of yo-yo).  We checked this out from Orem Public Library's PERC center, and had to turn it in before we got around to playing this like Memory.  I highly recommend this game!

Silly Sentences

Silly Sentences Educational Game

Why this game is awesome for kids!

This game is for 1-4 players, starting at 4-7 years old. This game helps teach grammar skills for elementary aged children.  This is a puzzle type game, each piece fits together to create sentences.  Each piece is a combination of a word with or without its picture.

Some more details

My 4 year old had a blast playing this with me one afternoon.  We checked it out from Orem Utah Public Library's PERC (Parent Educational Resource Center) for a whole week, and had a good time learning how to play it, read and build sentences.

This game is easy enough for a preschooler to read and play. You could build 1-7 sentences at one time, and there were enough pieces to build hundreds of sentences with lots of different rules to help teach your child.  It helps teach adjectives, nouns, verbs, adverbs, etc, and it helps teach site words to your children.  This was such a popular game from the Library, that there were a few missing pieces. However we still had enough pieces to do what we needed.

So if you buy this, which is very worth the money, it's okay if you loose one piece or two, there are tons of "a's", "the's", "and's", etc.  Which was pretty surprising because those are the letters/ phrases that generally don't have enough.  Another cool thing about this game, is that if your child is still learning how to read, some of the word cards have pictures.  Those pictures make it a lot more fun for the child too.  However, if you loose a noun or verb card well you can still play you just won't be able to put that picture card in the sentence anymore.
