Keep Wrinkles At Bay

Details:  Paula's Choice 2% BHA Liquid is a leave-on exfoliant.  It removes old skin cells both on the skin's surface and inside the pore.  It helps with acne breakouts, is for all skin types, creates radiant even-toned skin, reduces redness and builds collagen.  It is good for those who have rosacea.  Helps diminish wrinkles.


Review:  Paula's Choice makes wonderful claims to help keep wrinkles at bay, and help for acne breakouts.  I was hesitant to try this, as I had just been using an AHA.  It was love at first try with the BHA.  No stinging, no strong chemical smell.  It made my skin feel hydrated and very soft and silky. Actually AHA's and BHA's only have one molecule different in their makeup.  I vote to use BHA from here on out.

The one thing I didn't like is that my face was now breaking out more than ever.  I assume my clogged pores were now unclogging.  I can live with that.  It did last about 10 days before the breakouts diminished.  However, during this entire time, my face felt smoother than ever before, even after the AHA.

Paula has a booklet titled "20 Beauty Myths Busted!"  In there she describes how to keep wrinkles at bay.  She recommends "regular use of brilliantly formulated sunscreens, exfoliants (AHAs or BHA), moisturizers loaded with antioxidants and cell-communicating ingredients, and retinoids (components of Vitamin A including retinol), among numerous others are your best options, and this is supported by copious research."  She goes on to say that you can save thousands of dollars by not purchasing antiwrinkle and anti-aging skin care products that don't perform like they should.

I've had a very hard clogged pore for several weeks.  Once I started using Paula's Choice 2% BHA Liquid, this has greatly diminished.  Not completely gone yet, but almost.  I was beginning to think this would look more like a mole if things didn't improve.  I don't have that concern any more.

Through BzzAgent I #GotItFree. I was given several samples to hand out and let others try.  Everyone who has tried this has had positive results and comments.  It is a great product.

Pros:  Helps to keep wrinkles at bay.  Face is smoother and softer.  Face feels more hydrated.

Cons:  Didn't like the 10 days of breakouts while pores were unclogging.

Carafe For Vitamins and Pills by Sabi

Details:   Sabi is a company that provides many types of pill/vitamin containers and organizers, as well as a few other items to make like easier.  Sabi  is a Japanese word meaning that life's imperfections are what make it beautiful.  Sabi is all about making life more easy and to have everyday moments count.

The Sabi Carafe offers a convenient top to store pills for the day, and a cup to drink them down with.  The top of the carafe fits snug to keeps pills from spilling out until time to take them.  After taking the pills, the snug lid keeps the water droplets from getting all over if unable to dry it immediately.

Review:  This was given to a person who was about to get something along this line.  They need to take pills throughout the day and didn't always have a cup to drink out of.  This allows them to keep their pills for the day in the top of the lid, and drink from the carafe.  It works out very nicely.  The lid fits tight so when the carafe is placed in bags or drawers, there is no worry of the water getting on everything after drinking. Furthermore, this person likes the fact that the cup part is clear and can be used at their work place.

The lid has a divider to hold  pills of all sizes and shapes.  This is also very convenient for use at bedtime and can be placed on nightstand.  The carafe washes easily and is BPA free.

Chamomile Eye Oil For All Skin Types

Details:  Sundari Chamoilie Eye Oil  soothes and replenishes the delicate skin around the eyes.  It minimizes and reduces the wrinkles and lines around the eyes by improving the elasticity of the skin.  It brightens and lightens the skin around the eyes.  Effects may be seen in as little as 4 weeks.

Review:  This eye oil contains several beneficial oils such as avocado, jojoba, sweet almond, chamomile, and aloe vera.  It is similar to a serum which allows the oils to do their job more effectively.  Only a small drop on your ring finger then used to apply to the eye area is all that is needed.  The Chamomile oil has a rejuvenating scent that helps the mind and nervous system.

I used this eye oil for about 3 weeks.  Unfortunately, I did not receive the same benefits that 64% of the people did that tested this which was fewer lines, wrinkles and better skin texture. I know that each of these oils are great for skin.  I'm not sure if it is the fact that I am in a real stressful period of my life right now, and the oils are not working, or they're just plain not working for me.

At the end of three weeks, my eye areas looked worse, darker circles, more lines, puffy.  I'm not blaming the Sundari Eye Oil, I just stopped using it, went back to my regular DIY eye oil and have had better results.  I would like to give this oil another chance when the stress in my life lightens up.  That could be another couple of months.

It just doesn't make sense to me, as I've done research on those oils that Sundari uses in their product and all are excellent for the eye area.  If any have used their oil before, I personally would like to know what your results were like.

Pros:  Great skin oils that should perform as listed.

Cons:  Didn't work for me, but could be due to stress.

All Natural Pain Relief Capsules

Noxicare Natural Pain Relief capsules help to temporary relieve pain due to joint and muscle inflammation, nerve damage, fitness and sport injuries.

My Product Review:  I got these because of the wonderful ingredients in this product, not only to reduce pain, but because these herbs do so much more for the body.  However, as I've been doing a lot of mini-projects around the house that task my lower back muscles, Noxicare Natural Pain Relief capsules (and I only take 1 at a time) will work in about 15 minutes to relieve the minor pain I have.  The stronger the pain, I noticed it took as long as 30-45 minutes to work.  That's still using just 1 capsule.  I'm sure if I took 2 like recommended this would work faster for stronger pain.

If you are looking for an all natural product to relieve pain, this is the one for you.  It works and it works fast. Like that it works so fast, and the ingredients do so much more for your body than just relieve pain.

NonSoap Facial Cleanser with 10% Glycolic Acid (AHA)

Details: Nutra-Lift Glycolic NonSoap Cleanser is a non-oily cleanser that helps remove makeup, unclog pores, exfoliates, and evens out skin tone. It contains 10% glycolic acid which is used as a chemical peel by dermatologists or aesthetician. Glycolic acid (AHA) is also used to help reduce wrinkles, acne scarring, hyperpigmentation and improve many other skin conditions. This cleanser also contains Vitamins A, C and E., rose hips, lemon, grapefruit seed, chamomile and calendula.

Glycolic Plus NonSoap Cleanser

Review: This product is in a gel form which I like so it doesn't run out of my hands and down the sink, wasting it.  It has a slight tint of aqua coloring to it.  You are to get your face wet with warm water, apply the gel nonsoap cleanser, and wash your face using circular motions avoiding the eye area.

My mistake was not avoiding the eye area.  It really stings the eyes.  I couldn't wash this stuff off fast enough. Applied aloe gel immediately after to relieve the sting and redness.  So I thought, at first, this isn't a great product, if I can't use it to get my makeup off.  Not too worry, I've remedied the situation.  Now I remove my eye makeup first then wash my face with Nutra-Lift Glycolic Cleanser.

The next time I used it, as I was better prepared, I decided that this product was an excellent one to remove my makeup and cleanse the rest of my face.  My normal non-soap facial cleanser always leaves traces of makeup behind.  I clean that off with a cotton ball dipped in diluted apple cider vinegar and water.  That does a great job of finishing removing the makeup and toning my face.

However, with Nutra-Lift's cleanser, there are absolutely no traces of makeup left behind.  My skin feels taught, clean, and fresh.  It is smoother to the touch, and I'm hoping those wrinkles on my face will soon disappear.

If you don't want to spend the money going to an aesthetician for their chemical peels, this product is definitely a more frugal alternative.  I believe you will be pleased with the results from using Nutra-Lift Glycolic NonSoap Cleanser.

Pros: Does a great job of removing all makeup.  Face feels clean, taught and fresh.  Skin is smoother feeling for hours after use.

Cons: Doesn't really lather like it says.  Directions say to rub in a circular direction working into a lather.  I've yet to get a real lather out of this.

High Fiber and High Protein Granola Cereal

Details:  Fiber One Protein Cereal is a new product that provides one with whole grains, high protein, and high fiber.  Combined with milk, you get a whopping 10 grams of protein.

Nutritional Facts

Review:  This cereal is a great tasting granola type cereal.  It includes soy which helps provide much of the protein.  The Cranberry Almond flavor smells and tastes wonderfully fresh.  It is delicious.

I sometimes get a hankering for a bowl of cereal at night.  Fiber One Protein fits that bill.  I find I eat less of this cereal than others.  Probably because it fills me up faster due to the whole grains and fiber.

This would make an excellent afternoon snack for kids when they come home from school, or to eat prior to a sports practice or game.  They would have the energy they need to complete their tasks at hand.  I've even heard of adults eating a bowl of this cereal on their afternoon breaks to help them get through the rest of their day at work.

My suggestion, if you're feeling down in the dumps, or sluggish and need an extra boost, eat a bowl of this cereal rather than grabbing a candy bar.  You'll experience more energy and clarity of mind.  (OK, that's just how I feel when I eat it.  Your experience may be different.)

Oh, and BTW, it doesn't go soggy in milk.

Pros:  Tastes great, smells delicious.  Even though cranberries are dried, they smell and taste fresh, not stale.

Cons: Contains 220 calories without milk, with 45 calories from fat.

My Rating:  Thumbs up for taste, whole grains, protein and fiber.  Thumbs down for high calories.
