Review:  For years I've made the Oriental Cabbage Salad, especially after Thanksgiving.  (I prefer to use turkey instead of chicken.)  I've never had sesame seeds on hand to add to the salad, let alone remember to think about getting them when I'm at Whole Foods.  My local grocers don't seem to carry them, and I usually don't purchase food via the internet.

When I had the opportunity to review the White Sesame Seeds from Jiva Organics, I immediately made the Oriental Cabbage Salad.  Finally, I could add the sesame seeds to this delicious salad.  It was yummy.

Salad:

1/2 head of cabbage, shredded

2 cups cooked turkey, bite size pieces (your preference white/dark)
1/4 cup chopped onion
1/4 c. slivered almonds
3 tbsp. sesame seeds
1 pkg. Oriental noodles, broken in small pieces

Dressing:
3 Tbsp. vinegar
3 Tbsp. olive oil
Pepper about 1/8 tsp 

Salt to taste, about 1 tsp.
Pkg. of seasoning packet in Ramen noodles

Combine all ingredients for Salad and mix well.  Next combine all ingredients for dressing, and shake well in container before pouring onto salad.  After adding dressing, mix well and refrigerate salad at least an hour before eating.

Review:  I'm always looking for great lotions and creams.  So needless to say when they advertised this product that will be the all purpose cream, I thought it was worth trying.

I've been using this on my hands which were in need of some serious improvement.  I have seen results in just the 2 weeks that I've been using Anavita Moisturizing Anti-Wrinkle Cream.  I then used it on my arms, and even they had great improvement in looking more hydrated.

I have tried Anavita on my face a few times, but I personally do not like it on my face.  My face felt dry everytime I used it.  I ended up putting on more lotions and oils afterwards to rehydrate my face. Review:  Interestingly enough I had just read that blood pressure monitors that use the MWI (measures while inflating) technology are more accurate in detecting your blood pressure.  Shortly after I had the opportunity to test and try out Ozeri'z CardioTech Premium Series Digital Arm Blood Pressure Monitor.

In no time at all, we had this set up and figured out.  I was surprised at how tight the cuff on my arm inflated.  Not unlike at a doctor's office.  I didn't need a stethoscope to use this, the little machine did it all for me.

As I have tried other blood pressure monitors that wraps around the wrist, I thought I would give this one a try there too.  Don't bother trying your wrist, it didn't work properly.  However, I do feel like this arm band blood pressure monitor provided a more accurate reading.

This blood pressure monitor has a hypertension color alert system built in.  If it is green, your blood pressure is great.  If it is orange, it is ok.  If it shows red, you need to change what you're doing and get that blood pressure down.  Maybe more exercise, eating healthier, etc.

Pros:  Very easy to set up and use.  Very accurate readings.  I like having the carrying case so everything is stored all in one place.

Cons:  I couldn't find anywhere in the manual where it described the symbol of an irregular heart beat (arrhythmia.)

Review:  Recently I've been reading about just how great rose hips are.  I didn't realize that the rose hips actually contain seeds in them, and each have it's purpose in healing or aiding the body in various ways.

When I ready about how wonderful the seeds are, needless to say I was excited to try the rosehip seed oil by Dr Song.  I've been impressed with other products by this company, I knew this would be great too.

Review:  I love books.  Especially physical hardbound beautifully illustrated books.  The Olive Tree is such a book.  It is a multicultural story set in Lebanon about two young neighbors who learn the importance of sharing. 

This story is such a touching story how two children who are neighbors but really never get to know each other until after a storm.  One of the families moves away, and then returns later after the war. Sameer is so excited to finally have someone to play with, to climb the big olive tree, and share the olives from this tree.  Muna wants nothing of the sort.  This very large olive tree grows between the two families property but belongs to her family.  While feeling entitled to the olives dropped on his side of the yard, Sameer eagerly picks them up and plans to share them with Muna.  She demands that the olives are hers, and he must give them to her.  He's devasted and no longer picks up the olives on his side of the garden.  One night a lightning storm struck the olive tree down.  This was devastating to both children.  It took some time, but eventually these two children were able to come together and resolve their problems.

I love the deep dark green color of the fine powder.  It pretty much stays bright green too when mixed with other foods.  Sometimes that can be overwhelming if you are not used to this.  I kept thinking as I mixed this powder into various food items, how this would have been the perfect item to add to my "green" foods for St. Patrick's Day.  I used to serve our kids all green meals that day from breakfast to dinner.
