Tony Chachere's: The Original Creole SeasoningDetails: Great on everything! Zero calories from fat and zero calories. 310 mg sodium. Directions say to use it like salt.
Information: I have grown up using this seasoning to season all the meat and especially Texas BBQ (brisket), chicken for fajitas. This is so yummy. And as long as you can handle salt its really good for your health, it has salt, red pepper, garlic, onion, and a few other vegetables in it. I love this stuff. I make a yummy rice one dish meal with this seasoning for the meat. Recipe below.
My Rating
Rice One Dish
Need: 1 lbs ground turkey/ beef
1 1/2 cups rice
2 cups frozen mixed veggies
creole
garlic powder
onion powder
salt
ground pepper
cook the rice in 3 cups of water, mix in 1/2 tsp garlic powder, 1/2 tsp onion powder, 1 tsp salt, and 1/4 tsp pepper. Mix everything together and cook on stove. Start browning the meat, and add 2 tbp creole to browned meat. I cook my frozen veggies in the microwave, but however you like to do it, once they are cooked, the meat is browned, and the rice is cooked mix everything into a big bowel or dish and mix together and serve.
Extras: goes well with melted cheese either on top, or 1 1/2 cups melted cheese mixed into the dish. Also my husband and kids love to add variation by drizzling a little ranch dressing on top.
